  1. Using medium consistency royal icing and a decorating bag fitted with tip 3, hold the bag at a slight angle (45°) to the right (or to the left for left-handed decorators).
  2. Starting at the top edge, touch the tip to the surface and squeeze the icing to attach it. Lift the tip slightly and, continuing with even pressure, move the tip down to the right (or down to the left for left-handed decorators) and around to form a loop.
  3. Repeat to complete a border, using steady even pressure.
  4. To end, stop the pressure and pull the tip away.
