How to Make a Candy Stained Glass Window

This holiday season create a gingerbread house using your own pattern that stands out from all others. Baked from scratch using Grandma’s Gingerbread Cookie Recipe and assembled with royal icing. Make candy stained glass windows to take your house design over the top!

  1. Bake pattern pieces. Using your own pattern, cut out your house pieces and bake according to the recipe instructions.
  2. Make windows. Divide hard candies by color, placing each color in separate resealable bags. Use a rolling pin to crush the bagged candies.
  3. When the gingerbread has only 5 minutes left to bake, sprinkle crushed candies, a few of each color, into the cut-out windows. Bake for 5 minutes until the candy is melted. Cool completely before removing the gingerbread from the pan.
