YAY for You Cake

We all know that every day is a good day for cake—so whether you're celebrating a birthday, a graduation, a promotion or just making it to the end of the week, YAY for you! Add a little sweetness to your day with this YAY for You Cake. Made using the Easy Layers! Loaf Pan Set, this cake only requires one cake mix or recipe and all your cake layers can be baked at once. Decorate your cake with colorful dots and, in no time, you'll have a cake ready for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • Pink Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Kelly Green Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Teal Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Black Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Violet Icing Color, 1 oz. Gel Food Coloring

  • Golden Yellow Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Burgundy Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • White Decorator Icing - 4.5 lb.

  • Favorite Cake Mix or Recipe

  • Royal Blue Icing Color, 1 oz. - Blue Food Coloring

  1. Bake cake.

    Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Divide equally into prepared pans. Bake and cool. Level cakes to tops of pans. Remove from pans and cool completely.

  2. Ice cake.

    Prepare disposable decorating bag with tip 2A and creamy white icing. Pipe around top edge of first cake layer; fill in. Using spatula, smooth icing. Top with second cake layer. Repeat until cake is stacked. Spatula ice cake smooth.

  3. Tint icing.

    Combine Royal Blue and Black icing colors to get navy color shown. Using icing colors, tint 1/8 cup icing each green, yellow, pink, burgundy, violet and teal. Using color combination provided, tint ¼ cup icing navy. Reserve remaining icing white.

  4. Decorate cake.

    Prepare six disposable decorating bags with tip 5; fill separately with green, yellow, pink, burgundy, violet and teal icing. Prepare additional decorating bag with tip 7 and navy icing. Prepare final decorating bag with tip 5 and white icing.

    Using tip 5 bags, pipe dots around cake. Using tip 5 bag with white icing and heavy pressure, pipe “YAY!” on front of cake. Outline message using tip 7 and navy icing.
