Teal Triangle Cake

A simple border makes this Teal Triangle Cake suitable for any occasion.   1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool two cake layers; level.
  2. Prepare icing. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe instructions. Fill and stack layers for 4 in. high cake. Ice cake smooth.
  3. Make fondant border. Using fondant roller with purple guide rings, roll out 4 oz. white fondant into 1¼ in. x 19 in. strip. Wrap around bottom of cake, trimming excess if necessary.
  4. Tint fondant. Tint 3 oz. fondant dark turquoise using color combination provided. Combine Teal and Sky Blue icing colors to get dark turquoise color shown. Using fondant roller with purple guide rings, roll out dark turquoise fondant. Using square cutter, cut approximately 24 squares. Using craft knife, cut each square in half diagonally.

    Using damp brush, attach triangles in two layers to fondant strip, alternating directions. Add herbs on top of cake, if desired.
