Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare cookie pan with parchment paper.
In medium bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until combined. Add flour mixture; beat until combined.
Roll dough into 1-1/2 in. balls and roll in sprinkles or chopped candy bars, pressing lightly to adhere. Place 2 in. apart on prepared cookie pan.
Bake 14-16 minutes or until centers of cookies are semi-firm to the touch. Cool cookies on pan on cooling grid 2 minutes. Remove from pan to cooling grid; cool completely. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
To make Milk Chocolate Crinkle Cookies: Add 2 tablespoons cocoa powder to flour mixture. Add 4 ounces melted milk chocolate after egg and vanilla are added. Roll dough in confectioners’ sugar and bake as directed. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
To make Candy Cane flavored cookies: Add 1 cup chopped Wilton Candy Cane Candy Melts Candy and 1 cup chopped Wilton Red Candy Melts Candy after flour mixture has been added. Bake as directed. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
