Strawberry Heart Mini Cakes

Begin by preparing your favorite strawberry cake recipe, then use a large heart-shaped cutter to cut out your heart layers. Stack your cakes between layers of light pink buttercream, then top your treats with delicious white chocolate-flavored fondant.   1. Bake cake. Prepare strawberry cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool in pan.

    Level cake to about 3/4 in. high.

    Cut out cake hearts using largest heart cutter (you’ll need 16 hearts for 8 treats).

  2. Tint icing. Prepare buttercream following recipe instructions. Using Pink icing color, tint 2 cups icing light pink.
  3. Stack cakes. Prepare decorating bag with tip 12 and light pink icing. Pipe dots on top of one heart, then place second heart layer on top. Pipe pull-out dots on top of second heart.
  4. Cut fondant. Using fondant roller with purple guide rings, roll out white chocolate fondant. Using small and large heart punches, cut out 24 hearts of each size.
  5. Decorate cakes. Place 3 large and 3 small fondant hearts on each cake.
