- Bake Cake Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool two cake layers. Level each cake layer to 2½ in. high. Fill and stack layers for 5 in. high cake.
Tint icing. Combine Royal Blue, Violet and Rose icing colors to get dark blue color shown. Combine Sky Blue and a touch of Leaf Green icing colors to get teal color shown. Combine Violet and a touch of Rose icing colors to get purple color shown.
Tint 1 cup icing each dark blue, teal and purple using color combinations provided.
Using Creamy Peach icing color, tint 1 cup icing peach.
Reserve remaining icing white.
Prepare 16 in. decorating bag with tip 789 and white icing.
Prepare four 12 in. decorating bags with couplers. Fill separately with dark blue, teal, purple and peach icing. Attach tip 5 to each 12 in. bag.
Prepare another decorating bag with tip 5. Fill with white icing.
Ice Cake. Using white icing with tip 789, ice cake. Smooth using icing smoother. Using cake comb with square notches, swipe sides of cake, creating indented lines around the cake.
Using prepared 12 in. decorating bags, starting at bottom, fill in first gap with dark blue icing. Fill in second gap with white icing.
Using cake smoother and angled spatula, smooth out icing on sides and top of cake.
.Reserve dark blue, peach, purple and teal icing in bags.
Decorate cake.
Prepare four 16 in. decorating bags with tip 1M. Fill separately with remaining dark blue, peach, purple and teal icing. Using spiral border technique, pipe border around top of cake, alternating colors. Top border with blue and coral jimmies.
Using toothpick, draw 3¼ in. circle in center of cake. Switch 12 in. decorating bags to tip 16. Alternating colors, pipe braided border in center of cake, following outline of imprinted circle.
Switch 12 in. decorating bags to tip 3. Alternating colors, pipe small circle of beads in center of cake.
