Prepare and cover base board. Tint 46 oz. white fondant royal blue. Prepare and cover 15.5 in. x 16.5 in. foamcore board, 1/2 in. thick, with blue fondant.

Bake and cool Spider-Man cake. Place cake on foil-wrapped cake board, cut to fit.
Decorate cake. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint portions royal blue (for light blue), royal blue/black combination (for dark blue), black and red-red/Christmas red/black combination (for red). Reserve remaining white. Use spatula and blue icing to ice cake sides and background areas around face smooth.
Use tip 3 and black icing to outline Spider-Man face. Use tip 16 and black icing to pipe stars for eye borders. Use tip 16 and white icing to pipe stars for eyes. Use tip 16 and red icing to cover face with stars. Use tip 6 and dark blue icing to outline web.
Make fondant name.Tint 2 oz. of white fondant red-red/Christmas red/black combination (for red). Use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out red fondant 1/8 in. thick.
Use desired alphabet cutters from 101 cookie cutters set to cut letters. Use damp brush to attach letters to board.
