Simplified Rosette Cake

Pretty rose-colored rosettes cover this party cake. Easy to make, simply ice cake in buttercream and pipe a pattern of rosettes on the sides. Serve at bridal showers, girl's birthday party, or as a special dessert for friends.

  • Favorite cake recipe or mix

  • Buttercream Frosting

  • Rose Icing Color

  • Tools

  • 6 x 3 in. Round Pan

  • 10 x 16 Non-Stick Cooling Rack

  • Cake Leveler, Small, 10-Inch

  • 8 in. Cake Circles

  • Fanci-Foil Wrap

  1. Make cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool two cakes. Use cake leveler or knife to trim each cake to 2 1/2 in. high for a 5 in. high cake. Position cake on foil covered board.
  2. Decorate cake. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint rose. Use spatula and rose icing to ice cake smooth.

    Use tip 18 and rose icing to pipe rosettes on sides of cake.
