  1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake in tree pan.
  2. Tint buttercream. Tint frosting green, brown, pink, purple, blue and orange using color combinations provided.
    • Green: Tint 1 1/2 cups frosting green by combining Kelly Green, Moss Green and a touch of Leaf Green icing colors.
    • Brown: Tint 1/2 cup frosting brown by combining Brown and Red-Red icing colors.
    • Pink: Tint 1/8 cup frosting pink by combining Rose, Pink and a touch of Burgundy icing colors.
    • Purple: Tint 1/8 cup frosting purple by combining Violet and Rose icing colors.
    • Blue: Tint 1/8 cup frosting blue by combining Teal and a touch of Ivory icing colors.
    • Orange: Tint 1/8 cup frsoting orange by using Copper icing color.
    • Reserve remaining icing white.
  3. Frost cake. Using spatula and green frosting, frost tree area of cake green. Use tip of spatula to add texture.
  4. Using spatula and brown frosting, frost tree trunk brown. Use tip of spatula to add texture.
  5. Decorate cake. Prepare decorating bag with tip 21 and white frosting.
  6. Prepare four decorating bags with tip 5. Fill separately with pink, purple, blue and orange frosting.
  7. Using white frosting, pipe star garland, following curves on tree.
  8. Using pink, purple, blue and orange frosting, pipe small dots for ornaments.
