Santa's Reindeer Live Here--Barn #2

kids will be thrilled to decorate this gingerbread reindeer barn. Candy, icing, and fondant add the color and fun. The reindeer and sign icing decorations add the holiday magic. After all, when there are reindeer around, Santa is sure to be watching!

  1. Make front door. Roll out fondant 1/16 in. thick. Cut to match size of embossed door area. Attach door to barn. Use white icing to outline door.
  2. Make front window. Roll out fondant 1/16 in. thick. Cut window to match size of embossed window areas. Attach to barn. Use red icing to fill in shutter area on sides of window, pat smooth. Use white icing to outline window and shutters.
  3. Decorate barn. Use red icing to pipe lines over embossed lines on front, sides and back.
  4. Decorate barn front. Make wreaths: Roll out candy and cut into three ½ in. x 2 ½ in. strips. Lay flat and shape into circles. Pinch ends together. Attach to barn front. Use red icing to pipe dots on wreaths. Attach sign above door.
  5. Make side windows. Use red icing to fill in shutter areas on sides of windows, pat smooth. Use white icing to outline windows and window shutters. Use white icing to pipe drifted snow on windowsill. Cut one reindeer icing decoration off at neck and attach in window.
  6. Outline house. Use white icing to pipe zigzags at corners of barn.
  7. Decorate roof. Use red icing and spatula to ice roof smooth. Use white icing to pipe lines on roof divisions and garland on roof. Attach candy. Use white icing to pipe icicles on front and back eaves.
  8. Decorate base. Use white icing and spatula to ice base. Cut candy and attach below side windows for bushes. Attach reindeer icing decoration in front of door, building up icing behind feet if needed.
