Name: Roll-Out Butter Cookies

Ingredients: 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter, softened; 3/4 cup granulated sugar; 1 egg; 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour; 1/2 teaspoon baking powder; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract; 1/4 teaspoon Almond Extract; Large bowl; Medium bowl; Electric mixer

1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon Almond Extract

- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In large bowl, beat butter with electric mixer until light. Beat in egg and extracts. Keep in mind, mixture will be lumpy.
- In a medium bowl, stir together sugar, flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add sugar-flour mixture into butter-egg mixture and mix on low until dough comes together.
- On a floured surface, roll into circle approximately 12 in. in diameter and 1/8 in. thick.
- Dip cookie cutter in flour and press into dough. Continue dipping cookie cutter in flour before each use.
- Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet 6-7 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.

Notes

There is no need to chill this dough. Once the dough comes together, you can get ready to rolling, cutting and baking!
