- Keep frosting covered with a damp cloth until ready to use. For best results, keep the frosting bowl in the refrigerator when not in use.
- Substitute unsweetened chocolate square for 1/3 cup of dutch processed cocoa powder when in a pinch. You may need to add additional liquid to maintain the light and fluffy consistency.
- Instant coffee or espresso that comes in granules should be ground to a fine texture or dissolved in the milk before adding to the frosting.
- Keep in mind that powders and spices tend to create stiff frosting, so adding more milk may be needed to achieve a spreading consistency.
- To Store: Refrigerate for 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months in an airtight container. Bring the frosting back to room temperature and re-whip before using.
