Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray pan with vegetable pan spray.
In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. In large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time; add vanilla and almond extract. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk, mixing until just combined. Stir in pears. Divide batter evenly into prepared pan. Sprinkle almonds on top of batter; press gently into batter.
Bake 26-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on cooling rack 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely.
