Mirror Glaze Snowflake Cake

It's a beautiful winter wonderland with this Mirror Glaze Snowflake Cake. Topped with a bright blue glaze and sweet candy snowflakes, this winter cake is perfect for Christmas, Hanukkah or even a December birthday. The shiny finish on this cake makes it look like a lake of frozen ice and since it's made with Wilton Candy Melts candy, you know it's extra delicious! Use sparkling sugar sprinkles, jimmies and nonpareils for a finishing touch.

  1. Tape waxed paper to cake board.
  2. Melt Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Cut a small opening in decorating bag filled with Candy Melts and pipe snowflakes, ranging in size from 1-3 in. Make extras to allow for breakage. Chill until set, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Bake 8 in. x 2 in. cake following recipe instructions. Cool completely and place on cake board.
  4. Use spatula and 1 1/2 cups frosting to ice cake smooth. Chill until ready to pour glaze.
  5. Make the glaze according to glaze instructions linked in the Ingredients.
  6. Divide mixture and tint 1 cup blue; do not mix color in completely.
  7. Position cake on a cooling grid set over a sheet pan.
  8. Add 2 cups white glaze to blue glaze. Do not mix. Pour colored mixtures over the top and down the sides of the cake, swirling together, covering entire cake. Refrigerate cake until set, approximately 15 minutes. Gently remove from grid and place on serving plate.
  9. Make small marks in cake top with a knife to insert snowflakes to stand upright. Position candy snowflakes on cake top. Add sprinkles.
