Marbled School Spirit Cupcakes

Do you bleed maroon and gold? How about purple and yellow? Or maybe blue and orange? Whatever your colors, these Marbled School Spirit Cupcakes are a great way to cheer on your favorite team. Also fun for graduation parties and tailgates, these simple and fun cupcakes are easy for decorators and bakers of all skill levels.

  1. Tint batter. Prepare muffin tin with white baking cups. Set aside. Prepare batter following recipe instructions. Divide batter in half. Tint batter following batter color formulas provided. Transfer separately to disposable decorating bags. Cut medium tip in both bags.

    Use Color Right base colors and QuickCount color formulas to tint batter in the following shades:

    • Spirit Maroon: 2 cups batter + 30C + 7BK
    • Spirit Yellow: 2 cups batter + 7Y + 2O
  2. Bake cupcakes. Pipe batter into prepared muffin pan, alternating colors until liner is about 2/3 full. Bake and cool following recipe instructions.
  3. Decorate cupcakes. Tint icing following icing color formulas provided. Prepare two decorating bags with tip 1M. Fill separately with maroon and yellow icing. Pipe maroon swirls on six cupcakes, yellow swirls on other six cupcakes.

    Use Color Right base colors and QuickCount color formulas to tint icing in the following shades:

    • Spirit Maroon: 2 cups white icing + 65C + 6BK
    • Spirit Yellow: 2 cups white icing + 10Y + 2O

    Place ¼ cup red sugar in re-sealable sandwich bag. Add one drop black base color to bag. Close bag and knead in color to achieve maroon color. Sprinkle maroon sugar on yellow iced cupcakes. Sprinkle yellow sugar on maroon iced cupcakes.
