Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal Cookies

Oatmeal cookies seem to be everyone's favorite. This recipe is updated with maple flavor, topped with maple glaze and a sprinkling of salt and will dazzle your family and friends with a tantalizing taste and inspiring presentation.

Ingredients

    • Cookies

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour

    • 2 teaspoon baking powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

    • 1 cup firmly-packed brown sugar

    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

    • 1-1/2 teaspoons maple extract

    • 1 teaspoon Wilton Imitation Clear Vanilla Extract

    • 2 eggs

    • 2-1/3 cups old fashioned rolled oats, uncooked

    • 2 cups raisin

    • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

    • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

    • 1/4 cup maple syrup

    • 1/4 teaspoon salt

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare cookie sheets with parchment paper.
    2. In medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
    3. In large bowl, beat butter and sugars with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add maple and vanilla extracts and eggs, one at a time; mix well. Add flour mixture, beating until combined. Scrape down bottom and sides of bowl. Add oats, raisins and pecans. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto cookie sheet, spacing 2 in. apart.
    4. Bake 13-15 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes. Remove to cooling grid; cool completely.
    5. To prepare glaze, in small bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, maple syrup and salt. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
