Lucky Ladybug Cookies

Wish someone good luck or well wishes with these adorable Lucky Ladybug Cookies. Combine icing colors and lemon extract to create an edible "paint" to color your leaf cookies, then top each cookie with a fondant ladybug.   1. Bake cookies. Prepare cookie dough following recipe instructions. Cut out cookies using largest leaf cut-out. Bake and cool.
  2. Cut fondant. Using fondant roller with pink guide rings, roll out white fondant. Using same leaf cut-out, cut out leaves. Attach to cookies using piping gel.
  3. Paint fondant. Combine Leaf Green and Moss Green icing colors with small amount lemon extract. Using decorating brush, paint leaves. Let dry, about 20 minutes.
  4. Make ladybugs. Using red fondant, roll large ball for body of ladybug. Using black fondant, roll small ball for head of ladybug.

    Using decorator brush, dab water on body to attach body to head. Press lightly to attach.

    Using back of knife, press to make vertical indentation on body of ladybug. Using decorating brush and Black icing color, paint dots on body (you can also use black fondant to create small dots for body).
