Pipe 3-dimensional trees on parchment using the cupcake swirl technique. Let them dry, then pick them up and position them wherever you like around your gingerbread house!
Using tip 21 or any medium to large star tip, hold the bag straight up with the tip just above the surface.
Squeeze the bag to form a star for the center of the swirl and the base of the tree. The larger the center star the bigger the tree.
Without releasing pressure, raise the tip a little and move it slightly to the side. This will be the starting point of your swirl.
Using a circular motion, pipe a circle around the star until it connects to the starting point.
After completing the first rotation, move the tip inward and repeat the circular motion. Continue piping tighter spirals until you reach the desired height of your tree.
