- Using scissors or a paring knife, cut a green leaf gum drop into halves or thirds.
- Using a Fondant Roller, roll out each of the cut pieces onto a surface sprinkled with granulated sugar to prevent sticking.
- Cut the rolled out pieces into triangles.
- Fill a disposable decorating bag with royal icing and cut about 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) off the end (a decorating tip is not needed). Use heavy pressure to pipe a line on the side of the house.
- Working from the bottom up, immediately position the gum drop pieces into the icing, applying more icing lines as needed until desired tree size is achieved.
Notes
-
If using buttercream icing, use stiff consistency icing. Flowers can be frozen, then placed on the cake. If desired, add Round Decorating Tip 1 pull-out dot stamens in the center top of the flower in the same or a contrasting color.
