  1. Prepare the decorating bag with the pre-made gingerbread house icing, using either the one found in your kit or using your favorite icing recipe. Keep in mind, you'll want the icing to have a stiffer consistency so it acts as a cement for your structure.
  2. Construct the Base of the House. Start by taking one side wall panel and one peaked wall panel. Pipe a thick line of icing along the bottom of the side wall panel. Then, pipe a thick line along the bottom and one of the inside edges of the peaked wall.
  3. Adhere the panels together so that the side wall is positioned on the inside edge of the peaked wall.
  4. Press the sides together and attach to the base. Hold in place for several minutes until the icing begins to set.
  5. Now, attach the other side wall and peaked wall in the same way.
  6. Press together and let dry for at least one hour before going to the next step.
  7. Add the roof. After the structure has dried, the roof pieces can be placed on top of the house base.
  8. Pipe icing along the angles of both peaked wall panels and along the top of the side walls.
  9. Now, pipe icing along one long side of one roof panel. (This will be the peak of the roof.) Position one roof section, so it meets the peaked wall and side wall edges.
  10. Hold this half in place while you add the other roof section.
  11. Adjust so that each side is even and the center seam meets. Press and hold in place several minutes to allow the icing to set.
  12. Let your house dry at least two to three hours before decorating.
