  1. Donuts instructions: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spray the donut pan with vegetable pan spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, ginger, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, baking soda and allspice.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vegetable oil and molasses.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and beat until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut cup approximately 2/3 full of batter.
  6. Bake for 9-12 minutes or until the tops of the donuts spring back when touched. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 4-5 minutes before removing.
  7. Glaze instructions: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla.
  8. Drizzle glaze over the donuts and immediately sprinkle with sprinkles, if using. These gingerbread donuts are best served fresh.

Notes

    • Fill the donut pan using a piping bag or plastic bag. Cut off the bottom inch of a piping bag and fill it with your donut batter. A gallon ziploc bag can work as well. Pipe the batter into each donut pan cavity for clean and easy filling.
    • Sprinkle immediately after glazing. Make sure to add sprinkles immediately after glazing your donuts to ensure that they stick to the glaze.
    • For a clean, drip-free glaze: Rather than drizzling the icing on top of your donuts, dunk the top half of each donut into the glaze.
    • For a cinnamon sugar finish: If you’d prefer to skip glazing your donuts, a cinnamon sugar coating is a delicious option. Simply dip each baked donut in melted butter and roll them in a cinnamon sugar mixture.
    • For a powdered sugar finish: Put 2/3 cup of powdered sugar in a resealable gallon plastic bag. Put one unglazed donut into the bag at a time, seal the bag, then shake to coat.
