Giant Gingerbread Boy Cookie

1. - Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. - Thoroughly mix flour, soda, salt, and spices.
3. - Melt shortening in large saucepan.
4. - Cool slightly.
5. - Add sugar, molasses, and eggs; mix well.
6. - Add 4 cups dry ingredients and mix well.
7. - Turn mixture onto lightly floured surface.
8. - Knead in remaining dry ingredients by hand.
9. - Add a little more flour, in neccessary, to make a firm dough.
10. - Divide dough into two equal parts (recipe makes 2 giant cookies) and press one portion into prepared pan.
11. - Bake 15-20 minutes.
12. - Place on cooling rack for 5 minutes.
13. - Loosen edges with spatulal; remove from pan and cool.
14. - Using buttercream, outline cookie with tip 18 and position candy-coated chocolates.
15. - Pipe tip 18 swirl for eyes, nose, and buttons; position candies.
