Delight in the colors of autumn with these Festive Fall Candy Tree Cupcakes. It’s easy too, simply pipe out some candy trees onto parchment paper, bake a batch of cupcakes using your favorite recipe and then top-off your treats with delicious candy trees and some nonpareil sprinkles. An easy and quick project for beginning decorators, these fall cupcakes are great for birthdays, holidays or just baking a batch on a quiet weekend at home and pairing them with a hot cup of apple cider!
Melt candy. Melt Light Cocoa Candy Melts candy according to package instructions.
Prepare a decorating bag with melted candy. Cut a small tip in the bag. Pipe 3 x 3 in. trees (24 needed for 24 cupcakes) on parchment paper-covered cake board.
Immediately sprinkle with green, orange, yellow and red nonpareils. Chill until set, about 10 to 15 minutes.
Bake cupcakes.Prepare cupcake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cupcakes in unbleached baking cups.
Make frosting. Prepare buttercream frosting following recipe instructions.
Decorate cupcakes. Spatula ice the cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Sprinkle them generously with green, orange, yellow and red nonpareils.
