Easy Homemade Biscuit Recipe

Fluffy, buttery homemade biscuits don’t have to be a chore! This easy recipe comes together in about 10 minutes, and in no time you’ll have delicious biscuits perfect for pairing with gravy, bacon and eggs, strawberry jam or just a little butter. They’re perfect for breakfast, dinner and any time in between.

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar (if using), baking powder and salt. Using a pastry blender or two forks, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir milk into flour mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 3-4 times or until dough just comes together. Roll dough to 3/4 in. thickness and cut 12 biscuits using a 2 in. round cutter, re-rolling dough once if necessary. Dough may also be cut into squares or rectangles with a knife.
  5. Place biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet. Brush tops lightly with milk. Bake 8-10 minutes or until biscuits are lightly golden. Serve warm.
