This easy candy birthday cake is covered with everyone's favorite chocolates! Trick or treat with a simple frosted chocolate Halloween cake covered in candy bars, malted milk balls, mini peanut butter cups and more.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups of your favorite chocolate cake recipe or mix

  • 3 1/2 cups chocolate frosting

  • Chocolate bars

  • Candy-coated peanut butter chocolate drops

  • Mini peanut butter cups

  • Malted milk balls

  1. Make layered cake. Bake two 8 inch cake layers and cool completely
  2. Assemble and frost cake. Fill and stack layers on a cake board. Use a spatula and chocolate frosting to frost the cake smooth.
  3. Position candy. Break chocolate bars into 12 sections, 1 1/3 in. x 3/4 in. wide. Position around bottom of cake.
  4. Position candy-coated peanut butter chocolate drops in garland formation on the cake side. Position remaining candy on the cake top.

Notes

    • Prep the candy ahead of time to be able to quickly apply to the cake. This will ensure the frosting doesn’t crust before placing candy, making it more difficult to stick.
