- Make & bake cupcakes. Line a cupcake pan with white cupcake liners. Prepare the cupcake batter following the recipe directions. Bake cupcakes and when done, remove them from the pan and let them cool completely on a cooling rack.
Make Candy Melts candy bunnies. Download and print our bunny pattern and then place it on a cake board. Cover the pattern with parchment paper and tape it in place. Melt the Candy Melts candy by following the directions on the package then place the melted candy in a parchment bag.
Pipe the ears and bodies first. Chill approximately 5 minutes. Pipe heads. Chill until set, about 5 minutes. Outline and fill in bunny shapes.
Tint the icing and prepare the decorating bags. Divide 3 cups of icing into 5 parts and tint it with food coloring so you end up with the following colors of tinted icing:
- Combine pink with a touch of sky blue for pink icing
- Combine kelly green with sky blue for green icing
- Combine sky blue with kelly green for teal icing
- Combine violet with sky blue for blue icing
- Use lemon yellow for yellow icing
Place each color of tinted icing in a separate decorating bag fitted with tip 1M.
- Decorate the cupcakes. Pipe 1M rosettes on the tops of the cupcakes, alternating icing colors. Use an angled spatula to carefully remove the candy bunnies from the parchment paper. Place one bunny on the top of each cupcake. Enjoy!

Tips for coloring icing:
Dip a toothpick into the color and swipe against the icing. Always use a fresh toothpick to add more color to avoid contaminating the icing color. If using Color Right food coloring, squeeze drops of color directly onto the icing.
A little goes a long way. Try adding only a little at a time and mix to check whether you’ve achieved the right shade. When coloring buttercream icing, remember that colors intensify or darken after a few hours.
