Covering Cake Board with Fondant

Give your cake a dramatic look by placing it on a base board covered with fondant. Cut cake boards 2 in. larger in diameter than your cake, unless otherwise directed, then roll out fondant about 1 in. larger than board size. Wrap board with foil.

  1. Make tent. Prepare royal icing following recipe directions. Break graham cracker in half so you have two square pieces. Use tip 5 and icing in cut disposable bag to attach graham crackers at top edge in a tent shape.
  2. Make support. Break two pretzel sticks to match height of inside tent peak (approx. 2 in.). Use tip 5 and icing in cut disposable bag to attach pretzel supports inside tent. Let set, about 2 hours.
