Prepare cupcakes.
Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cupcakes in baking cups.
Tint icing.
Combine Christmas Red and Orange icing colors to get pink color shown. Combine Creamy Peach and Orange icing colors to get light orange color shown.
Divide icing equally into three portions. Tint one portion pink and one portion light orange using color combinations provided. Using Violet icing color, tint remaining portion purple.
Tint icing.
Divide icing equally into three portions. Tint one portion pink and one portion light orange using color combinations provided. Using Violet icing color, tint remaining portion purple.
Decorate cupcakes.
Prepare decorating bag with decorating tip.
Pull-Out Star Cupcake: Using spatula, ice cupcake smooth in color of your choice. Using bag with different colored icing, hold bag so round tip is towards edge of cupcake. Pipe pull-out stars along edge, varying sizes and height.
Shell Cupcake: Using bag with icing color of your choice, pipe shells around cupcake, starting at edge and moving towards center. Repeat in center of cupcake.
Flower Cupcake: Using spatula, ice cupcake smooth in color of your choice. Using bag with different colored icing, hold bag so round tip is towards edge of cupcake. Pipe five-petal flower around top of cupcake.
Dashes and Dots Cupcake: Using spatula, ice cupcake smooth in color of your choice. Using bag with different colored icing, hold bag so round tip is towards edge of cupcake. Alternate piping small lines and dots around edge of cupcake. Pipe two dots in center.
Linear Cupcake: Using bag with icing color of your choice, pipe line down center of cupcake. Pipe perpendicular line on each side of center line, forming “+” shape. Pipe vertical line on top and bottom of perpendicular lines.
Dots and Stars Cupcake: Using bag with icing color of your choice, pipe row of dots down center of cupcake. Repeat on either side to cover.
