Cocoa Candy Dipped Caramel Candy

There is no reason to choose between creamy caramel and decadent chocolate when you can have both with these delicious Cocoa Candy Dipped Caramel Candy Apples. Plus, to top everything off, these treats also feature an extra bit of joy for your taste buds with some crunchy chopped pecans!

Ingredients

  • Favorite medium-sized apples, washed and dried completely

  • 10 ounces of wrapped caramel candies or caramel bits, melted

  • Light Cocoa Candy Melts® Candy, 12 oz.

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans nuts

  • Tools

  • 5-Inch Bamboo Lollipop Sticks, 20-Count

  • 15 inch Parchment Triangles

  • Recipe Right Non-Stick Cookie Sheet, 15.25 x 10.25-Inch

  • Bake-Easy Non-Stick Spray, 6 oz.

  • Saucepan

  • Spoon

  • Microwave Safe Bowl

  • Food Safe Scissors

  1. Dip apples in caramel. Place parchment triangles on a cookie sheet and spray the triangles with non-stick spray. Next, insert the bamboo lollipop sticks into the apples near the stems.

    Melt store bought or homemade caramel apple dip on the stove in a saucepan over medium low heat and then dip the apples completely according to the package directions. Use a spoon, if necessary, to help cover them completely.

    Tap the apples gently on the edge of the saucepan to smooth and remove any excess caramel Place the caramel dipped apples on parchment or wax paper. Allow the caramel to set, which should take about 15 minutes.

  2. Dip apples in light cocoa candy. Melt the light cocoa Candy Melts candy in a microwave-safe bowl according to the package directions. Dip about 3/4ths of each apple in the melted light cocoa candy.

    Once the apple is appropriately covered, tap it on the edge of the bowl to smooth and remove excess melted chocolate candy.

    Immediately sprinkle with the chopped nuts. Place apples on the parchment triangle-lined cookie pan. Chill in the refrigerator to set, should take about 5 to 10 minutes.

    Reserve the remaining melted light cocoa candy in a parchment bag. Cut the bag when ready to decorate with the remaining melted light cocoa candy.

  3. Decorate apples. Use the reserved melted light cocoa candy to drizzle candy on apples. Place apples on parchment paper triangle-lined cookie pan. Chill again in the refrigerator until their set, should take about another 5 to 10 minutes.
