  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  2. Prepare the entire box of pie crust mix according to package directions using 1/3 cup of water or your favorite pie crust mix recipe.
  3. Roll out the crust into a 1/4-inch-thick circle on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Fit crust into a 9-inch pie pan. Trim off excess, folding edges under and pressing flat onto the rim of the pie pan.
  5. Lightly flour Pie Crust Mold. Roll the pie crust scraps into logs (about ½ in. thick) and press them into the rope mold cavity. Next, use a spatula to trim off the excess dough so it’s level with the mold. Press dough down again, if needed. Then, carefully remove the dough from the mold and set it aside for the moment.
  6. In a small bowl, lightly beat 1 egg with 2 tablespoons of water. Brush the edge of the pie crust with this egg wash and apply the molded pie dough to the crust. Repeat this process until the edge of the crust is decorated. Be sure to also brush the top of the molded pie shell with the egg wash.
  7. In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, bourbon, salt and the remaining 3 eggs until the mixture is smooth. Next, stir in the pecan halves and pour the mixture into the already prepared pie crust.
  8. Place the pie pan on a cookie sheet and then bake it for 10 minutes in the oven at 400ºF.
  9. Then reduce the oven’s temperature to 350°F and bake for at least 45 minutes or until the center of the pie is completely set.
  10. When done, set the pie pan on a cooling grid and let it sit, until it reaches room temperature. Serve and enjoy. Feel free to add some whipped cream on top too!
