

Cherry Chip Chocolate Scones

Ingredients
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cold butter
1/2 cup dried cherries
1 egg
1/4 cup, plus 1 tablespoon heavy cream
1 teaspoon Clear Imitation Vanilla Extract, 2 oz.
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
White Sparkling Sugar, 8 oz.

- Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare cookie pan with parchment paper.
- In food processor bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; pulse to combine. Add butter and pulse until mixture is the size of peas. Stir in cherries.
- In large bowl, combine egg, 1/4 cup cream and vanilla. Add flour mixture and 1/4 cup chocolate chips; stir until just combined (do not overmix). Pat dough into a circle and cut into 8 wedges. Brush with remaining 1 tablespoon cream and sprinkle with sparkling sugar.
- Bake 15-17 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of scone comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Remove from pan to cooling grid; cool.
