- Cover a cookie sheet or cake board with parchment or wax paper. Melt desired Candy Melts colors in the microwave in small bowls.
- Dip the tip of a 9-inch (22.86 cm) spatula into melted candy. Drop a dollop of candy on the parchment. With the tip of the spatula in the candy, use a swiping motion to pull the spatula towards you as though you were painting with a brush. Brush strokes can be made in any shape or size.
- Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until candy is completely set.
- Using a spatula if needed, carefully peel the brush strokes away from the parchment.
- Insert candy brush strokes into cakes and treats or attach as desired with buttercream.
- Tips:
- The thinner the brushstroke, the more fragile it will be.
- Always insert brushstroke into a soft surface. Push in gently to avoid breaking the decoration.
- Always make extra brushstrokes to allow for breakage.
