Bright Future Felt Board Cake

  1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool one cake layer. Prepare cake for fondant covering.

  2. Make frame. Using 20 in. fondant roller with orange guide rings, roll out fondant. Cut four strips, measuring 8 in. long x 3 in. wide in size. Attach to sides of cake, trimming excess as necessary.

    For top frame, cut four strips, measuring 8 in. long x ½ in. wide in size. Cut each end at 45 degree angle. Attach to top outer edge of cake.

  3. Tint icing. Tint 1 cup icing Navy Blue using color combination provided. Navy Blue: 1 cup white icing + 13B + 4R + 2P. Prepare decorating bag with tip 10 and blue icing.

    Pipe horizontal lines inside frame.

  4. Make letters. Using 9 in. fondant roller with pink guide rings, roll out remaining fondant. Using letter cut-outs, cut out message. Place on cake as desired.
