Beauty in Blue Doll Cake

  1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake in Wonder Mold pan. Level cake to top of pan. Ice cake smooth with white icing.
  2. Tint fondant. Combine Royal Blue and Black icing colors to get dark blue color shown. Tint 40 oz. white fondant dark blue using color combinations provided. Using 20 in. fondant roller with orange guide rings, roll out fondant; cover cake. Reserve remaining dark blue fondant.

    To make lighter blue fondant, combine small amount white fondant with 4 oz. dark blue fondant. Using 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings, roll out light blue fondant. Brush torso with piping gel, then form fondant over doll pick torso. Insert doll into top of cake. Reserve remaining light blue fondant.

  3. Decorate cake. Using 9 in. fondant roller with pink guide rings, roll out remaining light blue fondant. Cut 3/8 in. strip; wrap around waist. Trim as needed.

    For bow loops, cut strip ¾ in. x 6 in. in size. Bring both ends to center of strip; pinch in center. Attach to back of dress with piping gel.
