Great cakes don’t happen by accident—they’re the result of proper technique, preparation, and understanding how ingredients and mixing work together. In this hands-on class, each student independently scales, mixes, bakes, and frosts their own cake while learning the methods that produce consistent, professional-quality results.
You’ll learn how to:
- Use professional mise en place to scale and prepare ingredients efficiently
- Apply the reverse creaming method for a fine, tender crumb and ideal texture
- Understand how ingredients, mixing, and temperature affect your results
- Recognize when cakes are properly baked and how to work with your oven
- Troubleshoot common problems like batter splitting, dense texture, dryness, or uneven layers
- Prepare buttercream from scratch and fill, stack, crumb coat, and frost a finished cake
This class focuses on building real skill and confidence so you can bake beautiful, consistent cakes at home.
