A Sprinkle of Celebrations Cake

Whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary or just making it to the end of a busy week, this Sprinkle of Celebrations Cake is as easy as, well, a piece of cake to make! Use the tip of a spatula to add texture to the side of your cake, then sprinkle the top and bottom of your cake with colorful nonpareils for added color.   1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool three cake layers. Trim one layer to 1 in. high. Level other layers.
  2. Tint icing. Prepare buttercream icing recipe following recipe instructions. Fill and stack layers for 5 in. high cake. Using Kelly Green icing color, tint remaining icing green.
  3. Decorate cake. Using green icing color, ice cake smooth.

    Using tip of spatula, make vertical lines around sides of cake, starting at bottom of cake and working towards top.

    Lightly sprinkle nonpareils around top and bottom of cake.
