Ingredients:
- Favorite cake recipe or mix (6 cups batter needed)
- Color Right Performance Color System
- Confectioners’ sugar (2 cups needed)
- Milk (4 tablespoons needed)
- Corn syrup (4 tablespoons needed)
- White Nonpareils
- Jimmies 6-Mix Sprinkle Assortment
Supplies:
- Disposable Decorating Bags
- 9¾ in. Fluted Tube Pan
- Knife
- Cooling Grid
Prepare and tint cake batter.
Prepare cake batter. Remove one cup batter; separate into two bowls, ½ cup batter in each. Tint one bowl red with four drops red base color. Tint other bowl blue with two drops blue base color. Add tinted batter to prepared decorating bags.
Bake cake.
Pour small amount white batter in pan. Pipe red and blue batter on top, then add more white batter. Continue layering colors until pan is 2/3 full. Use knife to swirl batter. Bake and cool.
Prepare glaze.
Prepare red, blue and white glaze as follows:
- Red glaze: ½ cup confectioners’ sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 tablespoon corn syrup, 2 drops red base color
- Blue glaze: ½ cup confectioners’ sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 tablespoon corn syrup, 1 drop blue base color
- White glaze: 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, 2 tablespoons corn syrup
Prepare three decorating bags with red, blue and white glaze.
Decorate cake.
Pipe white glaze on top of cake. Pipe random dots of blue and red, then pipe over with white. Continue until desired look is achieved. Tap cake on surface to help glaze run down side of cake. Sprinkle top of cake with nonpareils and red and blue jimmies.
Makes 24 servings.
