3 Ways to Use Tip 104

  1. Bake cakes. Prepare cake mix following recipe instructions. Bake and cool two cake layers. Level layers to 2½ in. high.
  2. Tint icing. Tint 4 cups icing pink, 6 cups icing blue or 6 cups icing purple using color combinations provided. Combine Rose and Burgundy icing colors to get pink color shown. Combine Teal and Royal Blue icing colors to get blue color shown. Combine Violet and Rose icing colors to get purple color shown. Fill and stack layers for 5 in. high cake.
  3. Decorate cakes.

    Pink Cake: Using pink icing and icing smoother, ice cake smooth, heavier on sides of cake. Using tip of spatula, create angled lines around side of cake. Prepare decorating bag with tip 104 and pink icing. Starting at top edge of cake, pipe petals on cake top, working towards center.

    Purple Cake: Using purple icing and spatula, ice cake smooth, using spatula to create swirl on top of cake. Prepare decorating bag with tip 104 and purple icing. Starting at base and moving towards top, pipe wavy vertical lines around cake. Continue until sides of cake are covered.

    Blue Cake: Using spatula and blue icing, ice cake smooth. Prepare decorating bag with tip 104 and blue icing. Starting at top of cake and working towards bottom, pipe vertical rows of upright petals, with narrow end of tip facing up. Continue until sides of cake are covered.
