Yellow Bright Two-Tiered Triangle Cake

Highlighted in our new favorite color, this impressive yellow two-tier cake presents a blast of shapes and textures and is also decorated with meringue cookies, macarons, cake ball pops, and fun fondant shapes.   1. One day in advance, prepare fondant. Tint 14 oz. fondant yellow, 4 oz. each green, rmagenta, orange and purple. Combine Lemon Yellow and Golden Yellow for yellow shown. Combine Rose and Sky Blue for magenta shown. Combine Orange and Christmas Red for orange shown. Combine Burgundy ad Violet for purple shown. Roll a 1 in. dia. ball of fondant from the green, yellow and red fondant. Roll into 1/8 in. rope, cut into ½ in. long lengths for sprinkles. Let dry.
  2. Make cake balls. Make 6 medium-sized cake ball pops on 8 in lollipop sticks following recipe directions. Dip in melted yellow Candy Melts candy and set aside.
  3. Make meringue cookies. Prepare meringue mix, tint light and dark yellow. Make four tip 2A pull-out dots in a striped decorating bag. Make three tip 4B pull-out stars.
  4. Make macarons. Prepare macaron recipe. Pipe cookies 1 ½ in. dia. Sandwich two cookies and fill with buttercream icing to make four macarons for cake. Serve extra cookies on the side.
  5. Bake cake. Bake and cool four 10 in. layers and three 8 in. layers. Trim one 8 in. layer to 1 in. tall. 10 in. cake is 8 in. tall and takes 10 cups icing; 8 in. cake is 5 in. tall and takes 4 cups icing.
  6. Assemble cake. Spatula ice cakes, fill and stack layers. Position dowel rods in 10 in. cake and prepare for stacked construction.
  7. Decorate cake. Use fondant roller with orange guide rings to roll out yellow fondant 1/8 in. thick. Cut out large triangle and attach to side of 8 in. cake. Attach fondant sprinkles with dots of icing. Use tip 3 and white icing to pipe random dots. Use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to individually roll out green, magenta, orange, yellow and purple fondant. Use small wheel of fondant trimmer to cut 2 in. triangles: two in yellow, two in green, three in magenta, one in orange and two in purple. Cut out 1 ½ in. triangles: three in yellow, four in green, three in magenta, two in orange and two in purple. Use large end of tip 12 and small end of tips 12 and 2A to cut out yellow dots. Attach fondant triangles and dots to 10 in. cake with dots of icing.
  8. Serve! Insert cake pops into tiers. Attach meringues and macarons with dots of icing.
