Three Ways to Decorate with Star Decorating Tip 1M

Ingredients

  • Pink Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Lemon Yellow Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Kelly Green Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Teal Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Violet Icing Color, 1 oz. Gel Food Coloring

  • White Decorator Icing - 4.5 lb.

  • Favorite Cake Mix or Recipe

  • Tools

  • Decorating Bags, 16-Inch Disposable Piping Bags, 12-Count

  • Aluminum Round Cake Pan, 6 x 3-Inch

  • Decorator Preferred 9inch Angled Spatula

  1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool two cake layers. Level cake layers to 2½ in. high.
  2. While cake bakes, tint icing Combine Teal and Kelly Green icing colors to get medium teal color shown. Combine Pink and Lemon Yellow icing colors to get coral color shown. Combine Violet and Pink icing colors to get purple color shown. Tint icing medium teal, coral or purple using color combinations provided. Using tinted icing, fill and stack layers for 5 in. high cake. Crumb coat cake.
  3. Decorate cakes. Prepare decorating bag with tip 1M and remaining icing.

    Medium Teal Cake: Starting at bottom, pipe horizontal rows of shells around cake, continuing around cake until sides are covered. Repeat on top of cake, starting at edge and working in spiral towards center.

    Coral Cake: Starting at bottom, pipe horizontal lines around cake, continuing around cake until sides are covered. Repeat on top of cake, starting and edge and working in spiral towards center.

    Purple Cake: Starting at bottom, pipe horizontal rows of loops around cake, moving tip down then back up to starting position. Continue around cake until sides are covered. Repeat on top of cake, starting at edge and working in spiral towards center.
