

Tall Black Forest Cake

Ingredients
2 packages (15-16.5 oz) devil's food cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs to prepare mixes
2 jars (10 oz. each) Maraschino cherries
Whipped Icing Mix
chocolate curls

- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare two 9 in. round pans with vegetable pan spray.
- Prepare cake batter according to package directions using water, oil and eggs. Divide batter between prepared pans. Bake following package directions. Cool 10-15 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely.
- Drain cherries well, reserving liquid. Pat cherries dry with napkins. Prepare whipped icing mix following package directions.
- Level and torte cake layers, 1 in. high. Place one cake layer on cake circle or serving plate. Spread whipped icing on top. Add layer of cherries; drizzle with reserved liquid. Add second cake layer; press gently. Repeat filling and stacking cake layers. Spread whipped icing on top; sprinkle chocolate curls, if desired; top with remaining cherries. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
