It's great fun to build and decorate a sweet gingerbread house designed with cute icing and candy decorations. Make it the go to activity at school parties and family get-togethers!

  1. Make front door. Roll out fondant 1/16 in. thick. Cut 1 ½ x 2 ½ in. door and attach to house. Attach candy for door window and doorknob.
  2. Make front windows. Roll out fondant and cut 1/4 in. strips. Attach to house for 1 in. square windows. Use icing to pipe snow in corners of windows.
  3. Decorate house front. Attach candy under eave and under windows.
  4. Make side and back windows. Roll out fondant 1/16 in. thick and cut ¼ in. strips. Attach to house sides for 2 x 1 in. windows. Attach three windows to back of house. Use icing to pipe snow in corners of windows. Attach candy to sides of windows.
  5. Outline house. Use icing to pipe zigzags at corners of house and lines under eaves.
  6. Decorate roof. Use icing to pipe zigzag garland on roof. Attach candy at garland points. Pipe dots and attach candy between garland. Pipe zigzags on roof peak and attach candy. Use spatula and apply icing to top third of roof with a wavy edge. Use icing to pipe zigzags on roof peak and attach candy. Attach candy sticks to eaves.
  7. Decorate base. Use spatula and icing to ice base. Attach candy for pathway.
