

Salted Caramel Whoopie Pies

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 egg
8 drops Treatology Flavor Extracts Kit, 8-Piece Food Flavoring
3/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt

- Preheat oven 325°F. Lightly spray Whoopie Pie Pan with vegetable pan spray.
- In medium bowl, stir together flour and baking powder.
- In large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add egg and Salted Caramel Flavor; beat until well combined. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Mix until just combined. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of batter into each cavity; sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- Bake 12-14 minutes or until the tops of cakes spring back when touched. Cool cakes in pan on cooling grid 5 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on grid.
- For filling, beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer until creamy. Add confectioners' sugar and Salted Caramel Flavor; mix well. Spread about 2 tablespoons filling onto cake and sandwich with another.
