Made from sweet and savory rosemary-lemon shortbread cookies and decorated with royal icing, they are the perfect start and end to a celebratory feast with friends and family.

  1. Bake cookies. Prepare cookies following recipe instructions. Roll out dough to ¼ inch thick, then use the smooth side of the cutter labeled ‘A’ to make circles. Bake and cool.
  2. Make royal icing. Prepare royal icing according to recipe directions. Tint 1/3 cup icing brown, ¼ cup black and set aside.
  3. Ice cookies. With 9-inch angled spatula, smooth ice cookies with white royal icing. Prepare decorating bag with tip 2 and brown icing. Pipe irregular rings around the outer edge of each cookie, overlapping and twisting as you go to look like a wreath of branches. Then pipe 4-5 bands across. Switch to tip 1 and pipe a few squiggly lines at different points along the wreath.
  4. Add names.Prepare decorating bag with black icing and tip 1 to write names of guests, adding extra width to the down strokes. Garnish each cookie with a sprig of rosemary.
