Make cakes. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Tint batter orange. Bake and cool four 6 in. cake layers. Use cake leveler to trim layers to 1 1/2 in. high.
Assemble cakes. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Use spatula and white icing to fill and stack cakes for a 4-layer cake. Tint remaining icing orange.
Decorate cakes. Use spatula and orange icing to ice cake sides smooth and top in a swirl. Use tip 127 and orange icing in a cut decorating bag to pipe zigzags covering sides of cake.
