Preheat oven to 325ºF. Prepare a 9 x 5-inch pan with vegetable pan spray.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla; mix well. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture; mix just until blended. Stir in 2/3 cup chocolate chips or chunks.
Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle with remaining chocolate.
Bake 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on cooling rack 15 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely.
