Dare to Dino Cake

What's better than one dinosaur? A dinosaur filled with other dinosaurs! Featuring the brontosaurus, stegosaurus, t-rex and more, this Dare to Dino Cake is triceri-TOPS! Showcase your piping techniques by adding all kinds of dinosaur figures to this cake, and have fun mixing and matching your favorite colors to match your celebration. Though this treat uses a cake mix or recipe, you can also make this dino cake with a brownie mix as well.

Bake cake. Prepare pan with Cake Release. Set aside. Prepare cake mix following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake.
Tint icing. Combine Black and a touch of Ivory icing colors to get grey color shown. Combine Royal Blue and Ivory icing colors to get dark and light blue colors shown. Combine Kelly Green and Moss Green icing colors to get light and dark green colors shown. Combine Leaf Green and Lemon Yellow icing colors to get lime green color shown. Tint 2 cups icing light green and ¼ cup icing each black, dark green, lime, grey, dark and light blue following color combinations provided.
Ice cake. Using angled spatula and light green icing, ice sides of cake. Prepare decorating bag with coupler and black icing. Using tip 3, outline cake.
Fill in cake. Prepare decorating bag with coupler and white icing. Using tip 3, pipe in small areas of the cake. Switch to tip 8; fill in larger areas. Using tapered spatula, smooth out white icing.
Decorate cake. Prepare five disposable decorating bags with couplers; fill separately with grey, dark blue, light blue, dark green and lime green icing. Using tip 5 on all bags, pipe dinosaurs on cake. Using black icing, switch to tip 2; add palm trees.
Switch grey, dark blue, light blue, dark green and lime green icing bags to tip 3. Pipe random dots on cake.
