Cookies Filled with Love

These cookies are literally filled with love! A fun project for kids to do in the kitchen, these Cookies Filled with Love are a fun project for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or even a wedding or anniversary party. Tint dough to match your occasion or change the inlay shape to bake cookies for a different holiday.

Ingredients

  • Roll-Out Cookie Dough

  • Lemon Yellow Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Violet Icing Color, 1 oz. Gel Food Coloring

  • Orange Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Red-Red Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Pink Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Kelly Green Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Teal Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Royal Blue Icing Color, 1 oz. - Blue Food Coloring

  • Sky Blue Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Tools

  1. Tint cookie dough. Prepare cookie dough following recipe instructions. Divide equally into nine 1 oz. portions. Combine Kelly Green and Teal icing colors to get teal color shown. Combine Violet and Pink icing colors to get purple color shown. Using color combinations provided, tint one portion each teal and purple. Using Red-Red, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Kelly Green, Sky Blue, Royal Blue and Pink icing colors, tint remaining portions each red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue and pink.
  2. Cut cookie dough. Roll out dough separately to 1/8 in. thickness. Using “C” round cutter, cut out cookies. Using “F” heart cutter, cut out heart from center of each round cookie. Carefully remove heart center, placing it into center of different colored cookie. Continue until all cookies have different-colored heart center.

    Bake and cool.
