Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting

Our homemade cinnamon buttercream frosting is rich, creamy and easy to make. Packed with sweet and spicy fall flavors this cinnamon buttercream can be paired with these delicious apple pie cupcakes, spread in between cake layers or piped on your favorite fall desserts.

  1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine cream and cinnamon. Microwave 30 seconds or until hot. Let stand until it has cooled to room temperature (it will thicken to a paste-like consistency).
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and cream mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add vanilla and salt; beat until combined. Add sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating until smooth. Beat 1 minute longer, until light and fluffy.
  4. Pipe onto cooled cupcakes of your choice!
